Privacy policy

How AiGORA collects, uses, and protects your personal data.

Last updated: June 2026

Who we are

AiGORA is a community platform for teachers and academic developers across Sweden to discuss AI in higher education. We publish Q&A discussions, team responses, events, and related content.

What data we collect

  • Account data — name, email address, and password when you create an account.
  • Submissions— name, optional email, discipline, and question text when you submit a Q&A question without logging in.
  • Comments — name, optional email, and comment text. Comments from guests are reviewed before publication.
  • Contact and email list — name, email, message content, and email preferences when you contact us or sign up for updates.
  • Usage data — anonymous visitor identifiers stored in cookies to count post views and likes (one per visitor per post per day for views; one like per visitor per post).
  • Technical data — standard server and security logs needed to operate the site.

Why we use your data

  • To publish and moderate community discussions.
  • To respond to questions and comments.
  • To manage accounts and provide access to the dashboard.
  • To send email updates you have asked to receive.
  • To protect the platform from abuse and spam.
  • To understand how content is read and appreciated.

Legal basis

Under the GDPR, we process personal data based on your consent (for example when you submit a form or create an account), our legitimate interest in operating a safe community platform, and — where applicable — performance of a service you have requested.

How long we keep data

We keep account and published content for as long as needed to run the platform. Contact messages and mailing-list sign-ups are kept until they are no longer needed for the purpose collected, or until you ask us to delete them. Anonymous view and like identifiers are retained to prevent duplicate counts.

Who we share data with

Data is stored and processed using Supabase (database and authentication hosting). We do not sell your personal data. Published questions, responses, and approved comments are visible to other visitors of the site.

Your rights

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate data.
  • Ask us to delete your data where we no longer need it.
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
  • Lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.

Cookies

We use essential authentication cookies when you log in, and a persistent anonymous visitor cookie (aigora_vid) so guests can like posts and so we can count views fairly. You can clear cookies in your browser at any time.
